“After undergoing two courses of chemotherapy, when menopause arrived, the challenges came with it! Vaginal dryness, followed by a diagnosis of lichen sclerosus on top of everything else. Unwilling to bury my intimate life at 55, or my life as a woman altogether, I began searching for solutions.

For the past three years, I have been undergoing radiofrequency treatment, combined for the last 18 months with the new PRP therapy. What can I say? Little by little, I found my smile again. The issues I mentioned are now behind me, my intimate life is ‘back to how it was before,’ and quite simply, I feel like I’m living again.

I can only encourage women to choose this innovative and remarkably effective treatment.”

“At the age of 62, I learned that I had developed atrophic lichen sclerosus of the vulva. I was greatly affected by inflammatory flare-ups accompanied by stinging sensations. Sitting was sometimes unbearable, and I could no longer ride a bicycle or wear fitted trousers.

An osteopath friend told me about PRP injections, so I contacted Dr. Marchand, who suggested a series of three injections, followed by a fourth injection last December. Since then, the condition appears to have stabilized. I no longer experience inflammatory symptoms and I am once again able to do the activities I used to enjoy.

I was welcomed with great kindness and care by Dr. Marchand and her secretary, whom I would like to thank sincerely.”

“Ten months of freedom, feeling like myself again.”

“I had been suffering from lichen sclerosus for several years, but I had never been properly diagnosed. The first time it was mentioned to me, the doctor used the word ‘lichen’ without explaining what it was, and I thought it was some kind of fungal infection. After my symptoms worsened and I consulted several specialists, I was finally referred to Dr. Marchand Lamiraud. She showed me the extent of the condition and told me about PRP. I trusted her, and today, ten months later, I have no regrets.

I initially received four injections, which eliminated the itching and burning sensations. I then went seven months without any additional treatment, no corticosteroid cream and no vaginal treatments. Ten months of freedom, feeling like myself again.

Unfortunately, I experienced a relapse a little sooner than expected, as I had hoped to remain symptom-free for about a year. I was able to get an appointment very quickly, received another PRP injection, and by the very next day all the pain had disappeared.

I am fully aware that lichen sclerosus is an autoimmune condition that I will live with for the rest of my life and that I will require regular PRP maintenance treatments. However, during this relapse, corticosteroids had no effect, whereas PRP was nothing short of remarkable and relieved my symptoms without the need for any additional treatment.

I hope that the Ministry of Health will finally recognize the burden and pain associated with this women’s health condition and provide appropriate coverage for its treatment. I am fortunate to have the means to access care, but not all women are in the same position.”

Lichen Sclerosus
“I was finally able to regain a normal life and resume both my sporting and daily activities.”

“At the age of 63, I have been fortunate to enjoy good health throughout my life, allowing me to engage regularly in various sports and to feel completely comfortable in my body. I attended routine gynecological check-ups, and nothing noteworthy was identified, apart from gradually developing vaginal dryness, which I associated with menopause, as well as changes in the appearance of my vulva.

I endured the pain for several months until I finally consulted my general practitioner as the symptoms became increasingly severe. I experienced burning sensations extending from the anus to the front of the vulva, which had a major impact on my daily life. The intense pain became progressively harder to tolerate, preventing me from walking for more than ten minutes and making it impossible for me to ride a bicycle. I also experienced burning during bowel movements and a constant feeling of discomfort. An antiviral cream provided little relief. I simply could not understand what was happening to me.

My general practitioner referred me to Dr. Marchand Lamiraud, whose assessment finally led to a diagnosis of a condition I had never even heard of before: lichen sclerosus.

I decided to undergo PRP treatment, feeling that I had nothing to lose, or more accurately, that I was willing to try anything to obtain relief. I can confidently say that these injections relieved my symptoms within just a few days, rapidly and noticeably. I was finally able to regain a normal life and resume both my sporting and daily activities.

I can only recommend this treatment, which has provided genuine relief both physically and psychologically. The care was delivered in an atmosphere of trust by a physician who was attentive, highly educational in her explanations, deeply compassionate, and reassuring. It is essential that women affected by conditions that remain poorly understood by the general public are finally heard and provided with appropriate care, including reimbursement coverage from the national health insurance system. Thank you again, Dr. Marchand.”
